VHR Stockcar at Michigan

The last race of season 35 had Michigan Speedway as the host. While the racing was fast and furious there were some flag issues which tended to frustrate just about everyone at one point or other. The race seen quite a few leaders with Mitchell Lucus leading the most (51), he also had the pole and with a last stop strategy of taking only to right side tires, pulled off the win. This left Greg Holt, John Stanley and Larry Reed to battle it out for the first loser's position. Greg took second with John third, and Larry followed across the line in 4th. This was a fitting end to the season as we seen Mitchell crowed the season champion with John finishing 2nd in the points and Brian Kenney bringing home 3rd. Congratulations Mitchell!!!
Thanks to everyone for showing up to race and if this season was any indication the next one should be really fun and competitive.

The season championship goes to PARROT followed by John Stanley and Brian Kenny.

VHR Trucks at Kentucky

Kentucky Speedway, The crowd was energized and ready for some action with the WP Truck Series. As the green flag fell the trucks took off for a long green flag run before the first caution of only 4 for the night came out. The race was pretty standard with many just riding and saving their truck for the end. Within 8 laps to go, the caution came out setting the stage for a green white checker. This found Parrot, Reed, Paul Emond, and Greg Holt in position to make a final charge to the checkers. When the green fell it found these 4 drivers 2 and 3 wide on the last laps. When the smoke settled Paul Emond took home the 1st place prize with Reed 2nd, Parrot, 3rd and Greg 4th. The newer tires did pay off in this situation.

Not much to say about our last road course this season, it was hard on gears as many cars succumbed to the beating they took trying to get around the track. Reed dominated, as he lead 29 of the 36 laps and more importantly the last lap. Mitchell finished 2nd, grumbling that his pit crew let him down and back from a work imposed hiatus Lynn Hughes(Sparky) finished third, the last car on the lead lap. Next week we head off to Michigan where Joe Jaimeyfield has promised his fans that he will bring home the checkers.
VHR Trucks at Iowa Speedway

The trucks went to the land of the corn fields for Monday nights feature at Iowa Speedway. The .75 mile oval tried some peoples skills and as a result several cautions flew. The dominate truck of the night was the Birdman Parrot. Once again he had his truck wheeling around the corn field in record lap times. Several people made a good run at him such as Reed, Stanley, Max Racing and even Greg Holt got into the mix. Late in the race a battle with 10 to go started with Parrot, Max Racing, and Roland. Roland lost control and slid into Max ending his chances to contend like an idiot and that left Parrot, Stanley, JKozal, JJaimeyfielf to settle victory. The dash to the end came down to Parrot in first, John Stanley in 2nd, JKozal in 3rd and last but not least JJaimeyfield in 4th. Lots of fun with good friends and see you next week at Kentucky for the seasons final race.
